Payment Methods
EcoCart accepts the following payment methods via Stripe:
- Automated Clearing House (ACH) Direct Debit
- Credit Card
Managing Your Billing Settings
To manage your billing settings, select the Billing tab in the EcoCart Dashboard or Manage Payment Method in the welcome screen.
At least one valid payment method is required to activate EcoCart in your store.
Adding Payment Methods
To add a payment method, select Add a New Payment Method from the Billing screen.
Next, select from one of the available options.
ACH
EcoCart accepts Automated Clearing House (ACH) Direct Debit payments. To add an ACH account, select + Add a New Payment Method and choose Add a New Bank Account.
Note: all bank accounts must be US bank accounts.
Instant Verification (Recommended)
The recommended method to connect a bank account is to log into your bank account directly using Stripe. Once the pop-up appears, select your financial institution from the list. You can then log in using your financial institution's credentials to instantly connect your bank account.
You must then confirm authorization on the prompt:
Once the confirmation is completed, the payment method will be active:
Verification with Micro Deposits
Note that this process may take 1-2 business days to complete.
If you are unable to log into your bank account instantly using your financial institution's login system via Stripe, you can also add your bank account using its account and routing numbers. This requires manual verification via https://support.stripe.com/questions/verify-a-new-ach-direct-debit-customer-using-micro-deposits(small deposits made to your bank account with confirmation information).
To manually verify your bank account, click Manually verify instead at the bottom of the Stripe dialogue.
Next, enter your bank account and routing numbers in the prompt.
You must then confirm authorization on the prompt:
The bank account will then be added in the pending verification state. This payment method cannot be used until manual verification is complete.
Completing the Stripe Verification
Shortly after entering your bank account information, you will receive an email from Stripe with the subject line Verify your bank account for EcoCart.
Within 1-2 business days, you will receive a deposit for a small amount (usually $0.01) in the bank account you provided. Once this deposit is received, return to the email above and click Verify deposit. You will be taken to a Stripe web page on which you can verify your bank account information using the transaction description from the micro deposit that was deposited into the bank account provided:

Once your account has been verified, the authorization is complete and your bank account is now an active payment method for EcoCart.

Credit Card
EcoCart accepts all major credit cards via Stripe. To add a credit card, select + Add a New Payment Method and choose Add a New Credit Card. Enter your card information
Once you have entered and saved the card information, the new payment method will appear in the top section:
Shopify Payments
Shopify merchants are able pay their EcoCart bill via Shopify Payments. To configure Shopify as your payment method, select Add a New Payment Method and choose Pay with Shopify:
From here, you will be taken to a screen within your Shopify store that allows you to verify the subscription. Click Approve to complete this process.
Once approved, Shopify Billing will be added as a valid payment method in your EcoCart dashboard.
